Randomness.

Only two months in and I got a promotion at my new job. Again, I am grateful for the opportunity, but I am also aware of the potential problems.

Here Is What I Have Been Watching Lately.

The world is filled with too much bad and strange news lately. So, I am going to talk about something else.

My video watching is pretty much limited to my 30 minute lunch breaks at work. There is an advantage to being able to download movies and documentaries on both Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Here is a sampling of some of the things I have been watching.

The Battle of the Chosin - A PBS documentary. I admit that I have not studied the Korean War like I should have. I knew about the Battle of the Chosin. I know about it much better now.

Gas! Gas! Quick Boys! - An excellent documentary about the use of chemical weapons during World War One.

Coming Up To Periscope Depth.

Wow.

Life has been more than a little crazy recently. The job is going well enough, just the schedule leaves little time to blog, much less spend time with the family. The hard part was the end of August/the first of September when we were informed by the family member who owned the house we were in that he had decided to sell it. We had little time to find a new place to live and virtually zero funds to make the move. Fortunately, generous gifts from family, friends, and even strangers helped make the unplanned move possible.

Very Light Posting For A While.

My computer bit the dust. I am posting this from my phone. Between starting my new job and catching up on some bills, it may be a minute before I can replace the computer and start posting again. Please bear with me in the meantime.

Katanga The Untold Story (Of U.N. Betrayal)

I would also refer to my earlier post on Jadotville and The Wild Geese. This film from the early 1960s is an interesting look at what was going on in Congo and Katanga. These experiences unfortunately became part of the playbook to be used later on to change Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and South Africa.

I quite stumbled on this film by accident. I am surprised that I had not seen it before. The otherwise well filmed Siege of Jadotville for Netflix doesn't really get into any of this at all. Which does not surprise me at the least.

Poland Is Leading The Way.

Hat tip WRSA (link)

If Poland is ticking off the EU, then you know that they are doing something right. The Poles are definitely sticking their thumb in the eye of the globalists. Maybe the spirit of Sobieski is not dead.

Khauzuarabstian: A Primer and Brief History of the Geographic Wonder (Part Two)

Tied into this post.

The KhaZulu arrived on Khauzuarabstian around 300 years ago. They trace their arrival to a large fleet of Arabian slave ships that were run aground on the continent. A majority of the KhaZulu survived the grounding and flourished in the southern part of the continent.

They live in kraals of varying size. Their wealth is measured in cattle, hence the need for large expanses of grassland and veldts. Their military might is primarily infantry, with very little cavalry and artillery. The infantry is typically armed with knobkerries and assegai. They do have units armed with rifles, but their effectiveness does not reach Imperial troop quality. Do not underestimate their power when they attack in large numbers.
