Ready to try something radical? Go local.
Get involved in your church, town, county.
Follow your local leaders. Hold them to account. If they do not satisfy, work to get them replaced.
The last year has been eye opening for many in regards on the influence parents and citizens can exert on school boards and city and county governing boards. Even when the immediate goal is not reached, the framework is laid down for future victories locally.
This influence will stretch to state elections. Elections do have consequences. Hence the move by the progressive neo-Jacobins to control elections federally.
But the real, radical change has to come from within. Take account of yourself. I mean, really look deep into yourself and ask yourself, "Am I willing to do the hard work?"
The ultimate local is yourself. Change yourself and you can change the world, even if no one hears of your name. That is a hard pill for may to swallow, especially in this current social media driven world. You have to find peace with the fact.
I am going to go Biblical for a moment. In Hebrews chapter 11 Paul writes of some of the great names of faith from the Old Testament. But toward the end of the chapter, Paul tells of the scores of anonymous men and women who suffered terribly for their faith, yet they did not waver. They did not get to see the ultimate fruits of their work and faith.
Being radical can be scary and comforting at the same time. It is time to get radical?
I think so.
