Moving To Checkmate

DoomerDoug is making some very interesting interesting observations about some recent news events. With the US now officially out of Yemen (wait a second, I thought that was a success story for this administration?), the Russo-Iranian alliance now could control total access to the Suez Canal.

What does that mean? The Suez Canal allows for shipping to move from the Med to the Indian Ocean without having to sail around the bottom of Africa. The ability to use the Suez has played an important to American military planning. How fast can we project and support military power of we lose the ability to utilize the canal? 

The chess board is being played very well right now by Russia. Remember, the object of chess is to corner your opponent and limit his movement, forcing his capitulation.
